Back in attendance is the Global Start Up Program (GSUP), an integrated overseas development pathway now in its third year. ICE – Agency for the promotion abroad and internationalization of Italian companies, organizes on a selective basis that program, reserved for 100 Italian innovative startups, engaged in the development of innovations in products or services, with potential for growth in foreign markets. These companies, in addition, must belong to one of the following sectors of interest: ICT, Robotics and Industry 4.0, Space, Automotive, Life Sciences, Agri and foodtech, Greentech and Circular Economy, Smart Cities and Domotics, AI, Fintech, Energy, E-commerce, Cyber Security, VR and video games.

The project offers selected startups the opportunity to avail themselves of an incubation or acceleration abroad through the involvement of international incubators or accelerators that will host such startups for a period corresponding to 8 weeks. During this time frame, to take place roughly between September and December 2022, each startup will have the opportunity to exponentially increase its professional development skills through involvement in training sessions, mentoring activities, pitching sessions, meetings with potential investors and corporations, and networking events. At the end of the abroad phase, companies can then participate in the many promotional events organized by Agenzia ICE.

The target countries for the 2022 edition of GSUP are: China (ICE Beijing), South Korea (ICE Seoul), the United Arab Emirates (ICE Dubai), France (ICE Paris), Germany (ICE Berlin), Japan (ICE Tokyo), the United Kingdom (ICE London), (ICE) Singapore, and the United States of America (ICE Chicago, Houston, New York and San Francisco). In order to ensure fair access and rotation of participating startups, all those who took part in the first and second editions of the Global Start Up Program, either in presence or virtual mode, are excluded from the project.

Therefore, Techinnova and its Innogrow accelerator program, recognizing the importance of taking a globalization and internationalization-oriented path, emphasize the value of the Global Start Up Program. The aim of the latter, in fact, is not to drive startups away from our country, but to enable them to position themselves in other markets as well, attract international capital, find new partners, and return to Italy with new ideas and knowledge.
