On Thursday 16 December, between 2.30 and 5.30 pm, a plenary meeting was held by the working group of the VI CURA 4.0 project – “Virtualisation of heart disease for health and heart care 4.0”, of which Techinnova is the lead partner.

For the occasion, the invitation was extended to the entire team of technological partners involved in the project, including:

Four private proposers from the high-tech and IT sector – Techinnova, Immedia SPA, SNJ Media Studio and Athesys;
The Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, as an institution with expertise and facilities in the field of cardiology and cardiac surgery; in the role of “medical testers”, two cardiac surgeons interested in the project also participated in the meeting.
The meeting was held right at the heart of the Fondazione Policlinico Universitario Agostino Gemelli IRCCS, home of the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore: in fact, the session took place inside the Gemelli Training Center, the place of advanced training aimed at putting at the service of all healthcare professionals not only their scientific and technical skills, but also the products of innovation that derive from research activity.

The meeting represented a moment of general update on the progress of the project VI.CURA 4.0: the project team had the opportunity to touch with their hands the first tangible results derived from R&D activities.

In particular, the agenda was articulated as follows.

14:30 – 15:40: Presentation of the partners and related speech.

14:30 – 14:50 – Techinnova: introduction to the CURA 4.0 project and relative importance of the expected results in the national and international scenario.
14:50 – 15:00 – Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore: Gianluca Castelnuovo (Department of Psychology, Unicatt, Milan) – “New technologies for the clinician between training and intervention: between old resistances and new opportunities”.
15:00 – 15:10: Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore: speech regarding current practices in cardiac surgery and scenarios on possible paths of development.
15:10 – 15:20 – SNJ Media Studio: Implementation of a Software as a Service (SaaS) system in Cloud.
15:20 – 15:30 – Athesys: The role of data security and the use of blockchain.
15:30 – 15:40 – Immedia: Artificial Intelligence and Virtual Reality Lab.

16:00 – 16:30 – General discussion of activities and division into working tables.

16:30 – 17:30 – Testing of the MED3D cardiac surgery simulation platform (10 minute sessions).

The meeting, in the end, allowed the partners involved to put forward proposals and ideas to further optimize the data collected during the research activities, bringing to light aspects and possibilities of use of the future platform that could benefit many realities of the territory in the medical field.
