We are pleased to announce that Techinnova has been admitted to Phase 2 of Innovit – Italian Innovation and Culture Hub, scheduled from June 10th to 14th, 2024, at the Italian Innovation Center in San Francisco, California.

About INNOVIT

The Italian Innovation Center of San Francisco, known as INNOVIT, is a strategic hub for the internationalization and integrated promotion of the Italian System in the United States.

Promoted by the Directorate General for the Country System of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, in collaboration with the Embassy of Italy in Washington and the Consulate General in San Francisco, INNOVIT is implemented by the Giacomo Brodolini Foundation and Entopan Innovation, with the involvement of ICE – Italian Trade Agency and the Italian Cultural Institute in San Francisco.

Techinnova’s innovative project: COMMITMENT

Techinnova will participate in the “SMEs Traction (Life Sciences & Digital Health)” program with its R&D project COMMITMENT (Coaching Online Multifunctional Through Traditional Knitwear and Nudge Theory approach).

Within this project, Techinnova has developed a series of innovative production processes for the textile and fashion manufacturing sector, leading to the creation of “Smart T-shirts” with integrated IoT sensors. Specifically, the advanced multifunctional online monitoring and coaching system of COMMITMENT processes data and information from IoT sensors embedded in traditional and fashion knitwear. This system provides constant monitoring of health and wellness conditions through a progressive web app for smartphones, non-invasively collecting physiological, psychological, and behavioral data. Users receive personalized real-time advice on diet, physical activity, social participation, and general well-being based on the Nudge theory, which promotes conscious and effective lifestyle changes through “gentle” suggestions rather than rigid instructions.

Participation and goals

After successfully completing Phase 1 of the Innovit program – which saw the participation of 40 startups and 25 SMEs in online activities of orientation, needs analysis, mentorship, and tutoring – Techinnova is now ready to face Phase 2. This phase includes an intensive acceleration program in Silicon Valley, with workshops, mentoring sessions, networking with startups, major tech companies, venture capitalists, and industry experts. The agenda includes visits to leading tech companies and participation in major events such as the Demo Day.

Techinnova’s CEO, Riccardo Roggeri, will travel to the United States to participate in this program. The goal is to accelerate the international growth of Techinnova, guide business strategies through interactions with high-level mentors, and establish relationships with investors and strategic partners, thereby enhancing Techinnova’s competitiveness and innovation in the Life Sciences and Digital Health sectors.
