On an almost monthly basis, Techinnova – supported by the Innogrow accelerator – is flying to the Emirates to explore new business and technology transfer opportunities, as well as to strengthen and enhance existing collaborations with Emirati partners.

Thus, after the important and profitable entrepreneurial mission in mid-February, the team took part in the trade mission organized by Assolombarda – in collaboration with AIOP (Italian Association of Private Hospitals) – from March 7th to 11th, 2022. The main focus of the mission was the “Health & Lifesciences” sector, with particular regard to aspects related to healthcare, pharmaceuticals, medical devices and the research related to such fields of study.

The mission program included, first of all, a comprehensive visit to Arada Wellness Center, a project financed by Arada Group, one of the most important property development companies in the Middle East, based in Sharjah. The Arada Wellness Center project – which involves the construction of health facilities, such as clinics, hospitals and wellness centers – will be integrated into a larger project, the Aljada project, a large multifunctional building complex, spread over an area of more than 200,000 m², which currently includes a commercial area, shops, hotels and schools, as well as large leisure spaces.

Subsequently, the agenda drawn up by Assolombarda included visits and meetings in specialist healthcare facilities: the meetings proved to be important occasions for developing business opportunities, potential commercial partnerships and discussing the most up-to-date issues in the medical sector. Among the stops on the tour were the Saudi German Hospital in Dubai, a private multi-specialist facility, and the Cleveland Clinic in Abu Dhabi, also a private multi-specialist hospital, featuring infrastructures that combine cutting-edge services with first-class comfort standards.

The mission was also an opportunity to visit other leading healthcare facilities in the Emirates: one of these was the Dubai Healthcare City, which brings together healthcare and wellness, right in the heart of the Middle East’s most advanced tourist and business destination.

In the trade mission, there was also the opportunity to meet local stakeholders and international companies in the Health & Lifesciences sector, during the participation in the meeting chaired by SEHA – Abu Dhabi Health Services Company, the largest health care network in the United Arab Emirates.

Lastly, Techinnova’s operational team had the opportunity to carry out the agreements signed – in the field of aquaponics technologies – with Ayman Al Awadhi, Co-founder and Managing Director on behalf of The Corporate Group – the leading financial and business consulting holding company in the Emirates. Specifically, a site visit was made to Al Wasl Properties, one of the largest property operators in Dubai, with over 40,000 residential and commercial properties under management. On this occasion, there was the opportunity to present to potential investors and partners, visitors or business groups, our main R&D projects in the field of Aquaponics – CircularPonic and Acqualife, focused on agricultural and food innovations, and aimed at raising awareness about “food security”, as well as promoting an efficient use of sustainable resources.
