The COMMITMENT project – “Multifunctional Online Coaching Through Traditional Knitwear And Nudge Theory Approach”, of which Techinnova is the lead partner, which aims to improve the wellness of different categories of citizens through the development of smart T-shirts equipped with IoT sensors able to constantly monitor the health and wellness conditions of the person, ended on Saturday, April 30, 2022.
Having reached this point, it is worth looking back and retracing some of the main stages and most significant moments that have characterized this journey.
An important milestone was reached in July 2021, when the project – presented by Techinnova and its Innogrow accelerator program – was awarded second prize during the pitch session of the Innoprom trade fair. The latter is configured as the most important event, based in Russia, in the field of technological innovation applied to industrial production.
COMMITMENT was also presented by Techinnova at the seventh edition of BIAT – Borsa dell’Innovazione e dell’Alta Tecnologia, an international event held in Taormina from 22 to 24 September 2021. The objective of this fair is to connect innovative companies and start-ups from Southern Italy with potential demand from abroad.
More recent, however, are the two workshops of March 24 and April 27, 2022, organized by the project team in collaboration with the study group of the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore – in particular with the team of professor Gianluca Castelnuovo. These meetings gave rise to two important testing sessions of the T-shirts implemented so far, which represent the first of four versions leading to a pre-industrial product in the process of being patented. In addition to the numerous participation – in presence and remotely – of the students of the University of Milan, the second workshop was also attended by the grandparents of the children, allowing an interesting opportunity to compare the fit and comfort of the garment with one of the main targets of the product: the elderly population.
The second event at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore also led to the final thanks for the closure of the COMMITMENT project. We therefore take this opportunity to express our gratitude to all those who have contributed to the achievement of the objectives and results obtained during the project activities.
